At CHC, we offer standalone Intelligence (IQ) testing to support your child’s application to private schools or other programs (e.g., camps for gifted students, summer programs, Mensa, etc) that require such testing.
With years of experience conducting IQ testing, we are highly familiar with the unique requirements of local schools. CHC is proud to be on the ‘preferred providers’ list for many esteemed schools in the area, including Nueva, Helios, and Harker, ensuring that our assessments align seamlessly with their needs.
The IQ package includes:
We book a 2-hour appointment for your child to ensure sufficient time for testing – testing time may vary between 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on age and how many breaks they need.
Following the testing, the clinician will send you a brief report, which includes test scores, behavioral observations, and a narrative summary, which will be emailed to you within 48 hours of the appointment.
Please note: This package does not include a parent conference to review the assessment findings. If you’d like to meet with the clinician to discuss results or ask follow-up questions, we’re happy to accommodate this at an additional cost.
Some schools require specific tests for their application process. When scheduling, please let us know which school or program you’re applying to so we can ensure your child receives the appropriate tests.
We do the following IQ tests:
Note: If your child is sick or extremely tired, please contact us to reschedule.
It’s important that your child doesn’t practice or prepare for the test, as this will invalidate the results. Instead, focus on helping them feel their best by:
Instead of calling it a “test,” describe it as an opportunity to do puzzles, play thinking games, and solve problems.
Let them know some questions will be easy, and some will be more challenging. Encourage them to simply try their best.
If you think your child might feel nervous, let us know. We’re happy to take extra time to help them feel comfortable before starting.
