10th Annual CHC Breakfast
The annual event benefiting CHC’s free programs and financial assistance for youth mental health and learning differences, was a heartwarming event that featured an engaging conversation with Dr. Christine Carter and personal testimonials.
DBT Groups Offer a Lifeline
For the past decade, CHC Ravenswood has provided critical mental health services to underserved families in East Palo Alto and east Menlo Park, addressing barriers like language, stigma, and access. Through programs like Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), CHC Ravenswood has helped hundreds of children and families build emotional regulation skills, fostering hope and resilience in the community.
A Journey of Healing: How EBC Transformed A Family’s Life
EBC gave Kyle tools to recognize and manage his emotions. It also gave him opportunities to celebrate success—whether it was earning points for positive choices, reconnecting with his creativity, or feeling proud of a group project.
Navigating Neurodivergence: Megan’s Journey with the Schwab Learning Center at CHC
Megan, a high-achieving academic with a background in the Marine Corps and a PhD student at Stanford, sought help from the Schwab Learning Center (SLC) to complete her dissertation. Through personalized support and a diagnosis of multiple learning differences, Megan developed essential strategies to manage her work.
The CHC SteelMike Shootout Scores Again
On August 25, 2024, more than 450 community members and basketball players gathered to participate in the CHC SteelMike Shootout to raise over $300,000 for The Michael Harris Fund at CHC.
Dr. Temple Grandin Visits CHC
On February 25, 2025, 200 community members gathered to watch a screening of Dr. Grandin’s upcoming film, An Open Door. The following day, Dr. Grandin spoke to CHC parents at our Palo Alto office.
Sereno 1% for Good is Good for CHC
CHC was a recent beneficiary of Sereno’s generosity with a $10,000 gift to bolster its essential services for youth mental health and learning differences. “It is so important to be honoring these local organizations that are doing such hard work,” says Kristy Duncan, Director of Giving and Corporate Responsibility.
EBC’s Andrea Chase Honored as Direct Care Worker of the Year 2024
EBC Classroom Assistant, Andrea Chase, stepped into a well-deserved spotlight as she was named the Direct Care Worker of the Year at the 2024 National Association of Private Special Education Centers Conference.
Building a Toolkit for Life
SLC helped identify positive strategies and alternative ways of doing things for Fuentes. He says, “In times of joy and struggle the [SLC] community has been really valuable in cultivating relationships that are meaningful to me. They’ve manifested into these opportunities later on in ways that I often didn’t realize.”
Teen Mental Health Wins Big at Tournament
More than 350 community members along with enthusiastic basketball players and fans gathered on Sunday, August 27 at Menlo School in Atherton for the CHC SteelMike Shootout 2023 Basketball Tournament. All funds from the basketball tournament go towards the Michael Harris Fund at CHC.
ESPA at Ten Years: A Stanford CHC Partnership
