About the Michael Harris Fund at CHC

The SteelMike Shootout honors the life and legacy of Michael Harris—an inspiring young man who was a beloved basketball coach and counselor at Menlo School. Michael was passionate about supporting teens and pursuing a career in adolescent psychology. This annual tournament brings the community together to celebrate his memory and champion the cause he cared deeply about: youth mental health.

About CHC

Children’s Health Council (CHC) is a local nonprofit that has supported children, teens, young adults, and their families for more than 70 years. We specialize in learning differences and mental health, including ADHD, anxiety, depression, autism, and dyslexia.

At CHC, we believe in the power of understanding. When a young person feels truly seen and supported, new possibilities open up—in the classroom, at home, and in life.

CHC provides support through:

  • Two specialized schools (Sand Hill School and Esther B. Clark School)
  • Expert clinical care including evaluations, therapy, and psychiatry
  • Executive function coaching and learning support at Schwab Learning Center
  • Free parent education and community workshops
  • Deep partnerships with local schools
  • A robust online Resource Library available to everyone
